What's PSY singing in new single 'Gentleman'?

By Randee Dawn, TODAY contributor

PSY's new single "Gentleman," the sequel to his international monster hit "Gangnam Style," dropped on Friday -- but already there's some debate over the tune.

Sure, there's yet another infectious dance beat there (though as of yet, no video full of new dance moves has emerged) and rapped-out words -- but just what is PSY singing?

Much of "Gentleman's" lyrics are in Korean, with the occasional English word or phrase popping up. At the moment there are a lot of unofficial websites speculating on the lyrics ("I don't know if you know/why it needs to be hot/I don't know if you know/why it needs to be clean"?suggests one).

But it's the chorus that has us really scratching our heads -- it sounds like he's either singing "I'm a mother-father-gentleman" or, well, a combination of words that's not printable here. (If so, note that the video above does not bleep anything out.)

More should be revealed over the weekend: In a short video released April 7, PSY announced plans to debut the single to the world on Saturday with a concert in South Korea that will be streamed live via YouTube.

In the end, garnering the attention of as many listeners as "Gangnam Style" (a record 1.5 billion YouTube views) may be an impossible goal to reach, but clearly PSY is still out there, hyping his music and galloping toward his next success as fast as he can.

Vote on whether you think the new song will be a hit:
