The deadline is approaching to pre-enroll in the American Cancer Society?s Cancer Prevention Study-3, a nationwide population research program designed to track cancer risk in individuals and families.
Vanderbilt University is serving as a host site for this cancer prevention study, to be held Thursday, April 25, 7 a.m.?12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.?7:30 p.m. in the lobby of Langford Auditorium. Enrollment is open to Vanderbilt faculty, students, staff and members of the public, and there is no cost to participate.
Individuals between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer (except basal cell skin cancer) are eligible to participate in this major cancer prevention effort.
Participants are encouraged to book an appointment in advance for the April 25 event by enrolling online at www.cps3nashville.org or calling 1-888-604-5888. During initial enrollment, individuals will be asked to complete a short health survey. The on-campus visit, which takes about 20 to 30 minutes, will include a measurement of waist circumference and a blood draw (similar to a doctor?s visit).
While walk-ins will be accepted on the date of the event, participants are encouraged to pre-enroll to ensure a slot is available.
For more details about the CPS-3 study, see the full story in the VUMC Reporter.
