Some of the lies about health and fitness are not really untruths The reason is that each person's body reacts differently to exercise. Because each person's body reacts differently to exercise what is true for you may not be true for someone else. It is not a lie, you have to deal with questionable truths and or information on a case by case basis.

You never know what may be uncovered by doing some research, so ideally you should take the time to research and learn. Here is some solidly researched information about health and fitness, and what is true and maybe less than true.

One of the most well known myths about fitness is regarding treadmill workouts and your knees. Your knees are a matter of contention, some believe that treadmills are safer than running on pavement where the knees are concerned. This is indeed not a true statement. Your weight is forced upon your knees every time you run. Surface has nothing to do with it. Your knees are taking the brunt of the impact no matter what little give might be offered by a treadmill. Getting a good shoe to exercise in will aid your knees.

No pain, no gain. That's the only way to do it and get great results. If you are living by this motto you are making a mistake. The pain of a good workout should not inhibit your other activities. If you experience pain after a workout that doesn't go away or only appears to be getting worse, stop doing the activity. You will only cause yourself more complications by continuing an exercise that is causing you pain.

Another myth that is common is the excuse No Time for exercise. All a person needs is ten to twenty minutes on three days during the week. Top off your short schedule during the week with a longer 30 minute workout on the weekends for a great minimalistic approach to fitness that is better than no exercise at all. Think about what times you have at work or with the kids? Jumping rope, taking a walk or just stretching and doing simple exercises at your desk or even in your apartment is better than not doing anything at all. It's not impossible to find that 10 minutes if you try hard enough. If you're totally new to spinning bike work out, it is especially important to sort out the truth about health and fitness from the falsehoods. This is because you are in the beginning stages of forming your fitness habit. You will have to go through a painful re-education later if you form the wrong habits now. Whether you continue your fitness program and your future success depend on forming good habits.
