Mon 4/9: Democratic Party Candidate Forum for New Texas Congressional District 33

Presented by the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce and the Dallas County Young Democrats, the candidate forum will be moderated by the Dallas County Young Democrats. The candidates attending are David Alameel, Chrysta Casta?eda, Domingo Garcia, Kathleen Hicks, J.R. Molina, Carlos Quintanilla, Jason E. Roberts, Steve Salazar, Kyev P. Tatum, Sr., Manuel Valdez, and Marc Veasey.

Texas's 33rd Congressional District is a new district created as a result of the 2010 Census. Of the district?s voting age population, 19% is Anglo, 18% is African-American, and 62% is Hispanic. Given voting history and voter profile of the district, many political watchdogs believe that this new North Texas Congressional seat will be won in the Democrat primary. Most of West Dallas and much of Oak Cliff are in this new district. D-33 also includes portions of Fort Worth, Irving, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Haltom City and Sansom Park as well as all of Forest Hill, Everman, and Cockrell Hill.

The event is open to the public. Those who wish to attend are asked to RSVP online at http://www.westdallaschamber.com.
