Q & A: How to claim property taxes on 2007 tax return in 2008 ...

Question by Louis T : How to claim property taxes on 2007 tax return in 2008 ?
I forgot to add property taxes I paid in 2007 on my 2007 tax return. Can I add them to my 2008 tax return? Is there a separate form I need to fill out to claim these taxes paid? I am using H & R Block to do my taxes online. Thanks for your help. Best answer:

. You must claim them in the year that you actually paid them. If you paid them in 2007, you file in 2007 amended return (Form 1040X).
